The first game of the PopWins saga, PopRocks, is often considered the best. As we all know, the sequel is often never as good as the original and that’s the case with Yggdrasil Gaming and Avatar UX’s work - the new slots of the franchise didn’t quite make it up to the absolute quality of the original PopRocks game.

Yggdrasil Gaming and Avatar UX - The Developers of PopRocks Slots
Having only been formed in 2019, Avatar UX are babies of the online casino world. The Hong-Kong team’s biggest project to date has been the link-up with Yggdrasil Gaming on the PopWins games, but what a way to make an entrance as a team. Despite only being a very new online slots game developer, we have high hopes for them in the future if they’ve come out of the blocks with such skill right off the bat.
Yggdrasil Gaming, on the other hand, have a little more experience in the industry, albeit not a huge amount more. About PopRocks
The symbols in the base game are made up of the lower valued Royals J, Q, K and A, followed by the medium value gemstones. These guys pay out an okay amount, but it’s the high value gemstones in the PopWins feature where the money can really start rolling in.
That being said, the red medium value gemstone will pay out 20x, 40x or 100x your stake should you land 3, 4 or 5 of them so it’s not bad winnings at all.
Bonuses & Extra Features in PopRocks Slot Game
The PopWins feature is the focal part of the PopWins saga and therefore the PopRocks game. Every time you win in the base game, it becomes activated.
Every winning symbol pops and is replaced by two new symbols, which means that there will now be seven symbols on every reel that took part in the win. Now, you can win again, and effectively win multiple times in a row.
Not only does the PopWins feature allow for multiple wins, but it can also produce high-value gemstones that are not available on the reels without PopWins. They’ll pay out 40x, 80x or 250x your stake if you were to land 3, 4 or 5 of them.
Another (albeit rarer) symbol that becomes available as a result of PopWins is the super high value pink gemstone. 3, 4 or 5 of these will pay out 80x, 200x or 2500x your stake respectively.
Our Verdict on PopRocks
Even the base game in PopRocks pays pretty well, let alone when you start racking up big combos and landing high value gems with the PopWins feature. This can be really lucrative if you’re lucky and on top of that, it’s a whole lot of fun to play.
